The term Rapid Tooling (RT) is typically used to describe processes that either use a Rapid Prototyping model (indirect) as a pattern to create a mold quickly or use CNC processes (direct) to directly fabricate a tool in aluminum for a limited volume of production parts. RT tools are less costly and shorter in lead-time without loosing accuracy compared with conventional tools.
The RT tools can be categorized into 3 groups by tool materials: soft tools, bridge tools, and hard tools. The chart below shows the comparison.
Currently we offer both silicone rubber tool and aluminum tool. Depending on the factors listed in the chart, we will select for customers the most suitable mold materials.
